Information about screws

A screw is a bolt with a thread. Screws are used for a removable connection between components of all types. The threads are turned into an internal thread, in which the connected parts are compressed. The screw holds the parts by a clamp connection together, it is only drawn on tension.

Graewe Tadiv, based in the South-East of Europe in Bosnia, has been producing screws and cold forming parts for more than 20 years for Graewe. As a result of the long and successful business relationship, Graewe decided to intensify the relationship. After the change of name in the year 2006, this company is now under the management of the family Graewe and produces exclusively for GRAEWE in Germany.

For the production of the screws, Graewe uses two different methods:

1. Metal-cutting manufacturing

The screws are turned out of solid material on modern CNC machines. The thread can be chased as well as rolled. Typical applications are small batches and special requirements regarding geometry and strength.

2. Cold forming

In practice, this method has become accepted for mass production with little or medium upset ratio. On multi-stage screw presses, the screw blanks are produced, on which the thread is rolled. Using this method, there is no material waste. Graewe Tadiv has specialised in a range of up to M24 and a length of 200 mm maximum, whereas the length depends on the diameter.

The follwoing norm screws are produced by Graewe Tadiv:

  • DIN EN ISO 4014 (DIN 931)
  • DIN EN ISO 4017 (DIN 933)
  • DIN EN ISO 8675 (DIN 960)
  • DIN EN ISO 8676 (DIN 961)
  • DIN EN ISO 10642 (DIN 7991)
  • DIN EN ISO 4762 (DIN 912)
  • ISO 8100 (DIN 6921)

Large stock program

A large stock in Bosnia with more than 10.000 different items, a flexible production as well as capable forwarders guarantee a reliable and fast delivery.

Graewe offers customer-specific solutions for mechanical treatment of cold formed parts. In many cases, screws or cold formed parts are needed, that necessitate a following treatment. Whether a reduced shaft, a turned groove, a splint hole or an abraded shaft, these treatments are realised on modern production lines at Graewe Tadiv.

GRAEWE will exhibit at Husum WindEnergy!

The international leading trade fair of the wind power industry, the Husum WindEnergy, takes place this year from 21. – 25. September.
